At the present time using a iMac desktop macintosh/16 gigibytes of ram computer working with photoshop Adobe Creative Suites/cloud 2019. At Geogrpahics and the prior companies in which I was employed all work is accomplished in photoshop using extensively multi-layered files. How to create quality soft masks through the use of various functions within photoshop. Highlights, quarter-tones, mid-tones, three quarter-tones, shadows (density maximun values), neutrals, primary, secondary, tertiary, process and pantone colors. The ability to evaluate color from a digital, transparency or reflective samples. First, discussing with the client of what they are looking for. Second, being able to breakdown a transparency, reflective piece or the digital image in front of me. Third, upon viewing the item that the client has provided and the ability to evaluate mark-up a quality proof to match the digital photograph, scanned or reflective copy. Then, proceeding to another round of proofing (considered the intermediate proof) using an Epson 9900, 9800 or 9000 ink jet/Lexul Fuji 5600 digital proofing system before showing the client. The success of using photoshop is paying strict attention to detail. And more important than anything else is being able to view images from the clients to solve their problems and correcting them through the various technique. Also, the ability to break down digital (RAW) camera images from a photographer to RGB and CMYK. Producing a quality digital seperation with the internal functions of the camera in association with photoshop. Knowing when to use the in house archieve system to retrieve past jobs that have been approved by the client. Using the archive system with an extensive display of images that have the potential to be used to help me with retouching an immediate priority job. Currently and since being hired I have been the lead retouching specialist at this company. At the same time, I am reasonablity proficient with illustration, quark, indesign and acrobat PDF to help me through various projects.
When and if scanning is needed a Crossfield/Fuji 6250 Celsis high-end drum scanner is used.

Being able to take 35mm, 2 1/4', 3 1/4', 4'x5" and 8"x10" transparencies/chromes well as reflective copies and producing quality CMYK digital images.
A Crossfield 650 Lanvia flatbed scanner is used for various types of reflective products that are too thick for the drum scanner. Extensive testing with the internal functions of each scanner in relation to the item(s) to be scanned in reference to the proofing system.
